What is DubbaHood?
DubbaHood is an online, food marketplace that connects talented, home-based DubbaCooks, with
hungry people who want to buy fresh, affordable, home-cooked meals. Our goal at DubbaHood is to
start a food revolution in everyone’s kitchen!
1. Share your love of local, mouth-watering, home-cooked food
Have you always dreamt of being a chef or owning your own restaurant? Do your friends and family rave about your cooking? Is cooking a passion of yours?" Space, then next line "Then we’re looking for people like you to sell your food to hungry people in your neighbourhood!
There are so many people who, due to their hectic schedules, don’t have time to cook delicious meals for themselves. Many people in your area want home-cooked food but don’t have time to do it themselves, and would love to buy your meals from you.
2. Earn extra money as a home-based DubbaCook
How much you earn is up to you! If you’re selling your extra portions, you could cover the cost of your ingredients and make some extra money. If you want to make more money then you can make as many meals, as many days of the week as you wish. For instance, if you made 5 extra meals per day and sold them for £4 each, then you would make £320 per month.
3. Meet new people and make friends through food
So many people are short on time and don’t get the opportunity to meet others in their
neighbourhood, while other people are new to the area. By opening up neighbourhoods
through the love of food, we hope that people like you can meet new people and make new friends.
4. Variety is the spice of life!
Some people love Thai food, others love Indian. Some people like traditional dishes while
others love to try new ones. Some people have dietary requirements while others are
focused on healthy options. So even if you have just one signature dish that you like to
prepare, there will always be someone who is looking for exactly what you’re cooking.
5. Help reduce food waste
Do you cook for 8 people when you only need to feed 4? Do you end up leaving the leftovers in the fridge until they go off? Do you buy too much food which you never end up using? We waste 7 million tonnes of food a year; by selling your extra portions to your hungry, time-strapped neighbours, you can help to reduce food waste.
6. It’s free to sign-up!
There’s no cost for you to sign up. Once you’re set up and selling, DubbaHood charges a 20% commission for every meal you sell through the DubbaHood platform.
